Henley-on-Thames hotels and hostels
Henley has a good choice of accommodation, but is easily doable as a day trip from London. Book way in advance for the regatta. There are decent restaurants just outside Henley, with the centre dominated by chain offerings.
The Rose & Crown
Hotel Du Vin
Set in the former Brakspears Brewery, this upmarket hotel chain scores high for its blend of industrial chic and designer sophistication, as well as friendly service.
Old School House
This small stone cottage in a walled garden in the town centre is a 19th-century schoolhouse. Exposed timber beams and rustic furniture give the two comfortable guest rooms plenty of character, and the central location can’t be beat at this price.
Apple Ash
Lovingly maintained and beautifully decorated, it's well worth the 2-mile trip from town to stay at this charming Edwardian country house.
Milsoms
Set in an 18th-century former bakery, Milsoms offers sleek and stylish rooms, with bespoke artwork, subtle lighting and a muted colour scheme. They can be pretty compact, though, so ask for light and airy room 1 for more space.
