    Smoak Grill

    Oak-smoked steaks (done in a Josper grill) are the big draw at this buzzing new restaurant on the ground floor of the Malmaison. Basically, it's a much fancier version of American diner-style cuisine: the food is much tastier, the setting is much swankier and the patrons queue out the door to get a table. The half-rack of Kansas City BBQ ribs was just enough; we needed to leave room for the belted Galloway sirloin.
