Lonely Planet review for St Katharine’s Dock

The gateway to the warehouse district of Wapping is St Katharine’s Dock, built in 1828 after 1250 ‘insanitary’ houses were razed and 11,300 people made homeless and shut some 140 years later. Its current incarnation, a marina for luxury yachts surrounded by cafes, restaurants and twee shops, dates from the 1980s.
