Compendia’s owners are madly enthusiastic about games – board or any other kind –and they’ll look for the rarest of things if you ask them to. The shop is excellent for gifts you can enjoy with your mates – ­backgammon, chess, Scrabble, solitaire and rarities such as Mexican Train Domino, which claims to be the world’s fastest game.
