Bam-Bou
This listed Georgian house attracts the media darlings from all over Fitzrovia with its winning colonial French-Vietnamese cuisine. It can feel a little cliquish and some of the staff are less than welcoming but the mostly modern Vietnamese fare (sesame prawns, pan-fried duck) is a regular winner.

Sông Quê
With the kind of demand for seats that most London restaurants can only dream of, this perennial favourite always has a line of people waiting for a table. Service is frenetic, but the food is great and good value.

City Càphê
Down a quiet little lane off Cheapside, this small cafe attracts queues of City workers for its excellent and good-value Vietnamese street food to eat in or takeaway. Choose from pho (noodle soup), salads or summer rolls, or go for the classic (and very reasonable) banh mi (baguettes), which are simply delicious.
