Lonely Planet review for Gallipoli
This popular Turkish restaurant crams its fans in both here and at nearby Gallipoli Again, the overspill premises. The draw here is decent Turkish dishes at low prices (by Islington standards, at least). The menu runs from a great selection of meze to a large range of kebabs.

Grimy locals and great food- all with mama's care
pinkewille recommends this,
'My friend!' Everyone who walks into this home-style Turkish kitchen is greeted this way by Sami and Asmahan, the most charismatic duo to man a flame-grill. Bar the dolmades and the Turkish Delight, everything, and I mean everything, is home-made and crispy fresh. Get a flamed lamb shawarma with sides of vinegary potato salad, bouncy fat mushrooms, earthy lentil salad and creamy eggplant dip or go for pumpkin kibbe with a snappy side of snow peas.
Feeling under the weather? Asmahan will lash a little extra garlic on your mixed grill. Sami even makes the syrupy, flaky baklava himself - team it with Asmahan's Lebanese coffee and oh, happy days.Good for: food, Budget Travellers, Groups, Solo Travellers, service
