Lonely Planet review for Fishworks

This Bath-based chain was London’s first truly French poissonnerie (fishmonger) with a restaurant attached, its entranceway counters piled high with shaved ice, crustaceans and fish. We return regularly, especially for the sublime Dartmouth crab eaten cold and the incomparable zuppa del pescatore (fisherman’s soup; £19), a symphony of delights from the deep. There is also a Marylebone branch.

    Fishworks

    sarahlink recommends this,

Now a good seafood cafe is really hard to find. You know, one that seems a bit posh but doesn't cost a fortune, where you can take your parents when they're in town but go with your mates for a good nosh on a rainy night (yes, it rains a bit in London).

But I think I may have found it! On Upper Street in the heart of Islington, Fishworks really does impress. It seems that good, traditional fish and chips is getting harder and harder to find in old London town, but Fishworks serves up a generous serving of fresh fish in a lighter-than-light batter and ridiculously crispy fries. The lobster is great, the salads are fresh and the tartare sauce is gorgeous. Check it out.

    Fish that works

    psammead recommends this,

A fish restaurant that works! Awarded winners of Best Fish Restaurant 2000 by the Good Food Guide, Fish Works is a popular chain restaurant offering a variety of creative seafood including lobster, prawns, octopus, shark and eel. Don't expect just food here however but a whole experience with creatively presented dishes, outdoor areas and illuminated water scenes. Food is beautifully presented on chunks of ice and heavily garnished with herbs.
For starters the mixed sea food accompanied with a selection of tools is a must-taste as is the smoked salmon garnished with strong lemon. A seafood lover's heaven.
