Lonely Planet review for Gordon Ramsay
One of Britain’s finest restaurants and still the only one in the capital with three Michelin stars, this is hallowed turf for those who worship at the altar of the stove, notwithstanding the hot water Mr Ramsay seems to get himself into regularly. It’s true that it is a treat right from the taster to the truffles, but you won’t get much time to savour it all. Bookings are made in specific sittings and you dare not linger; book as late as you can to avoid that rushed feeling. The blow-out tasting Menu Prestige (£120) is seven courses of absolute perfection.

A Trip to Food Heaven..
sparky6161 recommends this,
I've long been a fan of GR, through television and his books and always longed to dine in one of his restaurants and was very pleased when I was given vouchers.
You do need to book two months in advance, I booked a table for 2 for 6.30pm, you are required to give your card details as if cancel with less than 48 hours notice, they can charge £150 pp to your credit card.
We arrived at 6.30, we were the first and I thought we may have felt a bit awkward, there was no need to worry, we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. We explained that we had a voucher and that was taken straight away. The decor is lovely, lots of mirrors which helps to make it seem spacious as it is a small restaurant but the space is used well.
The staff were attentive, the Maitre D' chatted to us for while too.
The menu makes your mouth water as soon as you start to read it, I chose:Ravioli of lobster, langoustine and salmon poached in a light bisque with a lemongrass and chervil velouté to st art , which was delicious and so delicate, for the main course I decided on Roasted Barbary duck breast with creamed savoy cabbage, beetroot, caramelised shallots and Madeira jus, pure heaven on a plate and for dessert I chose, Bitter chocolate cylinder with coffee granité and ginger mousse. The food was out of this world, we usually chat about anything and everything but spent the best part of 2 hours discussing the food, we thought that the three courses were all we would be getting, I had no idea that when you go to Restaurany Gordon Ramsay, it isn't just meal, there were so many special touches that I'm not going to write here, I think it would spoil the surprise. Total cost for this trip to heaven, £300, not cheap but I didn't begrudge a penny. It was a taste extravaganza that I'll never forget and can't wait to experience again.
If you go, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.Good for: Romance, atmosphere, food, service
