Lonely Planet review for Ali Baba
Looking more like a slightly chaotic laundry than somewhere to eat, this tiny Egyptian double take is buried in between terraced houses in residential Marylebone - a most unlikely place to find such good (for the price) hummus, falafel and kebabs. You can takeaway or sit in a tiny room and watch Arab TV.

dissappointing!
hildalinnet does not recommend this,
I was really excited to try Egyptian food when I was in London but Ali Baba left me feeling dissappointed. The atmosphere was very dull and the service poor. The waiter seemed uninterested in helping me with my selection and the food was nothing more than OK.

Just like being in Egypt
lorenza43 recommends this,
I lived in Egypt for a while and loved eating in the local restaurants. Ali Baba is just like those restaurants. The decor is the same as in Egypt - marble floors and mis-matched furniture. But the food is fantastic. It was the best felafal and fuul medames I've had outside Egypt, and the shawerma is delicious. However, if good and prompt service is what you want, then this isn't the place for you.
But for genuine Egyptian food I would recommed this place wholehearteadly.Good for: atmosphere, food, Budget Travellers, Groups, Solo Travellers, Families
