Lonely Planet review for Afghan Kitchen
This minute two-floor gem serves up some of Islington’s best-value and most interesting cuisine. It features traditional Afghan dishes such as qurma suhzi gosht (lamb cooked with spinach) and qurma e mahi (fish stew) alongside a generous vegetarian selection, including borani kado (pumpkin with yoghurt) and moong dall (lentil dhal). It’s absolutely brilliant value, and rightly popular so book ahead for the evenings.

Worth Going To
jeff_elephant recommends this,
Definitely one of the better and more consistent cheap eats in London. This place is fairly compact on the 2 floors and popular, so either come early or make a reservation, as it's pretty much always packed on weekends.
Food is good, selection is limited to a number of dishes, but I'd recommend sharing a few dishes with friends, so you can try more. Always had a good meal there - as a vegetarian, I'd recommend the aubergine dish, it's excellent.

Interesting dishes full of original flavours, great veggie options, really reasonably priced... I'm full of praise for Afghan Kitchen. The dishes are great for sharing so go with all your friends. The service is pretty quick too so it's perfect for lunch.
