If it's pizza and pasta you want, Zeff's is the place. The cellar dining room is buzzy, with glass sculptures, spotlights and curvy seats, and the menu has copious Italian dishes. The owners also run Ambleside's main cinema; ask about the £17.95 'Double Feature' deal, which includes two courses and a ticket to the flicks. There's a jazz club upstairs.
