As befits a TV chef who campaigns on sustainable food, at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's bistro the emphasis is firmly on local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Hearty flavours include cured wild boar, venison scotch eggs, and sharing platters of local meats, fish and cheese. Drinks include Stinger Beer; brewed from (carefully) handpicked Dorset nettles, it's spicy with just a hint of tingle. There's another River Cottage Canteen in Plymouth.
