During the week bus 249 comes and goes from the east side of the main plaza. On Saturday and Sunday the bus stop is four blocks west, at the entrance of town across from the Scotiabank. The first bus to Sonsonate passes Juayúa at 4:15am, and the one to Ahuachapán at 5:15am; the last in both directions is at around 7pm. For Santa Ana (US$0.45, 40 minutes) bus 238 goes direct and leaves a few blocks west of the parque central at 5am, 6am, 7am, 9am, 2pm and 4pm. If there are enough passengers, additional departures at 8am and 10am are added. Otherwise, take a bus to Sonsonate or Ahuachapán and connect there.
