Getting there & around

Like all the other towns along the Ruta de Las Flores, Apaneca is served by bus 249, which runs northward to Ataco (US$0.25, 10 minutes) and Ahuachapán (US$0.45, 40 minutes) and southward to Juayúa (US$0.35, 20 minutes) and Sonsonate (US$0.60, 50 minutes). Buses pass every 30 minutes, stopping a block north of the plaza; the last north-bound bus passes at 7:30pm, the last southbound at 8pm. Microbuses pick up and drop off at the plaza; they cost the same and are slightly faster, but serve Ataco and Ahuachapán only.
