Parque Nacional Walter T Deininger
Named after the German settler who donated his land to El Salvador, this national park has two types of forest: caducifolio, which sheds its leaves in summer, and galería, which retains its foliage year-round. An 18km (11.2mi) trail skirts the park - stay close to the ranger and keep your eyes peeled for a torogoz (blue-crowned mot-mot), the national bird.
