Hello! This is my first time posting on this forum, and I'm hoping I can receive some insight! Today I will be in Cairo for 13 hours, about 12:30pm-1am. I would love to see Khan al khalili if possible, or at least a bit of Cairo while there instead of wasting the opportunity. Doesn't anybody know how far it is, and how public transport works? Thanks for any help!
Hi everybody! My name is Mariana, i am from Argentina (so it is possible that my english is not so good, i'm sorry for that). In a few weeks i am doing a trip to Israel and Egypt. I'm going with two friends, and we want to go from Sharm El Sheikh to Eilat, we are planning to do this in bus or in a taxi, but i really don't know how safe this is, can anybody give me an advice?
I will really apreciatte you
Dear TAers, we are flying from NBO to CAI on September, and found that Ethiopia Airline has the proper ticket. However the price is outrageous! Since Mar/Apr the price is like $500 for a one-way...does this sound reasonable? Or do you have any recommendations in terms of cheaper local agent/website? Thank you in advance!
Hi everyone! I am taking my second backpacking trip in September and we are going to Jordan/Egypt. It will be the last two weeks of September, 9/15-10/1. Due to flight costs, we are flying roundtrip from to/from Amman. We are currently planning on landing in Amman and catching a flight later that evening to Cairo. We'll spend the first week in Egypt, then will spend the last week in Jordan, flying home from Amman. Few questions: Will there be any issues re-entering Jordan from Egypt from…
Has anybody obtained an Egyptian visa in Los Angeles recently? I keep crossing the border in Cairo and my passport is filling with visa all taking one page and costing $25 each. I'd like to obtain a multiple entry visa, even if the duration is only 90 days because it'll save me money and passport pages.
- How much is the current cost of a multiple entry tourist visa? (The web page http://www.egyconsulatela.com/en/visas/ says it is $15, but I suspect it's out of date).
- How long does it take…
A recent issue of Scientific American included a full-page advertisement for a company called Archeological Paths, which offers archeological tours in Egypt led by archeologistt Zahi Hawaas and Jehan Sadat (Anwar Sadat's wife).
I've looked for online reviews of this company and they mostly seem either to be several years old or posted by the company itself. Some of the postings suggest the company is a scam.
Has any one traveled with this company in the past year? If so, I would be…
I can confirm that, up until May 2017, The timetables of AB Maritimeas shown on their website are completely inaccurate.
Contrary to what is advertised, the boat 'Ayla' left from Nuweiba at 11:00am, and not at 1:00pm (Trip 2), on Friday 19th May 2017. Ticket office opens at around 08:30am and a standard ticket for non-Egyptians costs 97$ (90$ + 7$ entry tax into Jordan, I challenged the latter fee as it's supposed to be a free trade zone but the guy at the window wasn't having any of it).
I will be arriving in Cairo early July with 2 other women and staying for 7 days. Open to traveling outside of Cairo, but looking for any types of traveling tips!!!! Places to avoid, things we must see, etc or suggestions on what area to stay in. Thanks!
I'm curious what impact the recent devaluation of the EGP has had on prices for local goods. I'm mostly concerned with things like cups of coffee, shisha, local food, transportation. Have they gone up a little? A lot? stayed the same?
I'm just curious because any information about costs that isn't coming from the past few months may likely be outdated.
Understandably hotels and luxury items have been adjusted accordingly.
