I'm in Cairo and I am planning to go to Aswan on 25 May and get there on 26 May for a tour group to Abu Simbel and later to Luxor for Valley of kings and later to go to Dahala!!! From there I will go to Jordan and Israel. If you are doing the same route we can share and break costs!!! I have a flexible time!!!!
I am traveling to Cairo in a little less than a month. We are going to Luxor and Aswan while there too. With the recent Egypt Air events and terrorism threats in Egypt, I was wondering if anyone has any advice about traveling there?
Well, I've been already to 6-9 pyramids surrounding Giza, the Coptic region and garbage city on the east side of Cairo, the Alabaster Mosque, walked 20+ km in Alexandria, walked Aswan, toured Abu Simbel, and still have 8 days remaining!
I have never been so impressed with a culture which has been beat down so much in recent years. Service everywhere I've been has been exceptional, Aggressive selling has been much less then described here on this forum, and planning has gone WITHOUT a hitch (so…
My partner and I will be traveling in November and will be doing all the touristy places. What type of clothing would be best to bring during that month? Would jeans be okay? In addition, we will be staying a full day in Cairo and we were wondering where the must go to places/vendors/restaurants to eat (that won't hopefully affect our stomachs)?
A tour operator in Egypt has just informed me that the Western Desert has been closed by the security forces and no tourists are allowed.
Does anyone know if this is true? If so, are there other deserts that are open for tours?
We are flying into Hurghada (got a good flight deal) and out of Cairo. Ideally, we would go from Hurghada to Abu Simbel and then down the Nile to Cairo. However, this is looking a bit impractical.
Is there any reasonable way to go from Hurghada to Abu Simbel without spending 10 hours in a car in one day or flying via Cairo? I'm open to a two or three day tour or something.
Hello everyone, Has anyone been to Marsa Matrouh and Siwa recently? Would the public beaches in Marsa Matrouh be safe for foreigners? And what about safety on the road to Siwa and in the area itself? Would appreciate if anyone knows about this. Thanks.
Ask a stupid question~~~
I am currently using T-mobile, which claims that it has data in Egypt and many other countries. But in my previous trip to Australia and China(I can't call going back home a trip...), I found somehow the data service did not work (t-mobile say they have data in Australia and China! did I miss something?), but I could make phone calls and text message.
Had anyone experienced the same thing?
What should I do if that's the case... Any recommended carrier in Egypt?
My question is pretty detailed. Where can I take the train to Hurghada?
It's quite strange that there's only one flight from Cairo to Hurghada on Nov 17th. I need to be in Hurghada the next day to catch a diving boat. It seems the best option for me is to take the bus. I checked many webpages but I didn't find any suggestion on where should I take the train to Hurghada? Is there any bus departs from the Cairo airport? That's the most ideal situation for me!
Thanks a lot in…
We recently went on a budget trip to Egypt for 9 days. Following is our itinerary for those 9 days:
