Getting there & away
Trains between Aswan and Luxor usually stop at Daraw. By road you are likely to be forced to go by convoy to Daraw, which is usually arranged via the tourist office in Aswan. Should all this change, service taxis and minibuses running between Aswan and Kom Ombo stop in Daraw (if passengers indicate that they want to get off). The E£5 fare is the same as for the whole stretch. The camel market is on a large lot 2km from the Luxor–Aswan highway. Turn off at the main road into the town and ask for ‘souq al-gimaal’.
