Lonely Planet review
This bejewelled Edwardian gem is an institution unto itself, towering over the Corniche and keeping a watchful eye on the Med since 1907. In the 1990s the Windsor was bought by Paradise Inn, after its success with the Metropole, and was given a much-needed nip and tuck. Thankfully the wonderful old elevators and grand lobby have been retained, and the rooms boast the sort of old-world, green- and gold-flavoured pizazz that wouldn’t be out of place on the Orient Express . The pricier rooms have splendid sea views.
