Our expert local leaders will share with you the archaeological and historical secrets of the ancient sites of Petra, Luxor, and the Great Pyramids of Giza. Whether it’s haggling in Cairo’s bustling bazaars or snapping a desert sunset, Egypt and Jordan will be etched into your memory like a hieroglyph.


Day 1 Cairo
There are no planned activities until an evening welcome meeting. Additional Notes: If this is your first visit to Cairo, we highly recommend that you book an airport transfer. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting
Day 2 Cairo/Aswan (1B, 1D)
Head straight to visit the pyramids and soak in the history of this fantastic site. In the evening, board an overnight train to Aswan. Included Activities: Great Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx Tour Egyptian Museum Visit Transport: Enjoy a comfortable twin-share compartment with bunk beds and lockable doors. The beds convert into seats when not in use and luggage is stored under the bottom bunk. Bedding is provided and there is a small wash basin with soap and a towel as well. Shared toilet facilities are at the end of each carriage. A simple “airline style” dinner is included. Non-alcoholic drinks are available to purchase and there is a bar car for socializing. Day 3 Aswan (1B, 1D)
Enjoy some free time in the morning to browse the souk or walk along the Nile. Later, board a felucca (boat) to reach Elephantine Island and visit a Nubian village. Walk around the small community then enjoy a delicious traditional dinner in a local home. Included Activities: Felucca Sail to Nubian Village
Day 4 Aswan (1B)
One of the most fascinating sights in the area is the Temple of Abu Simbel. Later, opt for a half-day tour to visit the Unfinished Obelisk, High Dam, and Philae Temple. Visit the modern Nubian Museum to learn more about the local people and culture.
Day 5 Aswan/Kom Ombo (1B, 1L, 1D)
Board the felucca (traditional boat) and spend the rest of the day out on the river and a night under the stars. Included Activities: Felucca Overnight Sailing Excursion
Day 6 Kom Ombo/Luxor (1B)
Enjoy a guided visit Kom Ombo Temple before driving to Luxor. En route, visit the temple of Edfu. Included Activities: Kom Ombo Temple Visit Edfu Temple Visit Transport: Stop en route to visit the Edfu Temple. Private Vehicle (4.00 hour(s))
Day 7 Luxor/Cairo (1B, 1L, 1D)
Cross to the West Bank and travel by donkey. Visit the massive 18m (59ft)-high Colossi of Memnon, which is all that remains of an ancient temple. Descend down the narrow corridors and check out the tombs of the pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings. The Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut literally seems to rise out of the surrounding limestone outcrops. Enjoy free time to explore Luxor; Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple are both well worth a visit. Learn about the ancient art of embalming at world's only Mummification Museum and the small, but beautifully presented, Luxor Museum. Additional Notes: If you have pre-booked the Valley of the Kings Hot Air Balloon Ride you will be flying today. Day 8 Cairo (1B)

Day 9 Cairo/Nuweiba (1B)
Travel to Nuweiba. Opt to snorkel in the Red Sea or relax on the beach. Transport: Plane (1.00 hour(s)) Private Vehicle (2.50-3.00 hours)
Day 10 Nuweiba (1B)
Enjoy a free day to explore Nuweiba or take an excursion to Mt Sinai.
Day 11 Nuweiba/Aqaba (1B)
Spend the morning at the beach before boarding the ferry to Jordan. Additional Notes: The Egyptian CEO will assist with departure proceedings and help get you on board. The 1.5 hr ferry ride will be unescorted and your Jordanian CEO will be waiting in the arrivals hall to assist with entrance to Jordan. Included Activities: Border Crossing (Egypt - Jordan) Transport: The ferry is quite comfortable, and has air conditioning and airline-style seats. The journey itself should take only 1.5 hrs, but the ferry is often delayed and wait times can be up to 3-4 hrs. Ferry (1.50-5.50 hours)
Day 12 Aqaba/Wadi Rum (1B, 1D)
Spend the morning in Aqaba before setting off for Wadi Rum, a vast, silent landscape of ancient riverbeds and the largest and most magnificent of Jordan's desert landscapes. Head deep into the desert by 4x4, stopping at famous landmarks along the way. Arrive at the tented camp in time for a traditional meal. Learn more about this ancient culture. Day 13 Wadi Rum/Wādī Mūsá (1B)
Pack up from the Bedouin camp and head for Wadi Musa, home to the famous city of Petra. En route, visit Siq al-Barid, known as Little Petra. Upon arrival, spend time walking in the small city or seeking out one of the many cafés playing Indiana Jones on loop. Day 14 Wādī Mūsá (1B)
Walk through the narrow canyon that forms the dramatic entrance to the city (the Siq), around the final corner, and lay eyes on the dramatic façade of the Treasury building. Learn a brief history of the city and walk approximately 25km (15.5 mi) to cover the entire site. Return to Wadi Musa in the late afternoon, or continue exploring on your own. Day 15 Petra/Mādabā (1B)
Depart early for the first stop, Shobak Castle. Continue on to explore Karak Castle, built during the Crusades. Later, visit Mt Nebo. Learn the ancient history of this spot and check out the incredible views. Continue on to Madaba to see the famous Byzantine mosaics, dating back to the 6th century. Day 16 Mādabā/Amman (1B)
Head out to the Dead Sea, a lake so salty nothing can live in its waters. Spend some time at one of the resorts with time for bobbing like a cork in the buoyant water, covering yourself in healing mud, or just lounging on the beach.
