Colour-saturated, handwoven silks, cottons and linens are the mainstay of this luxe shop in a grand villa – buy by the yard, or in boxy, drapey women's and men's apparel. There's also very pretty handmade pottery from Al-Fayoum.

To get here head south along the Corniche and take the left immediately opposite the turn-off on the right for Le Méridien Cairo hotel; follow the street that veers to the right, then take the first right and it's the second or third building along.
