Lonely Planet review for Abou Shakra

Abou Shakra is where to come for a skewer or two. It's been serving up its kebab-and-kofta plates and shwarma sandwiches at this main branch since 1947 and locals love it to bits. There's a takeaway at the front and a dining room behind it. Believe it or not, on Fridays an Imam reading from the Quran is posted next to the toilets. No alcohol is served.

vey nice food and clean aswell

    cbcool recommends this,

I went 3 days ago,the place was very nice,a guy was playing traditional music, the place was overpriced a bit, compared with other restaurants in Zamalek (like Abu A Sid or La Bodega) which were much more cosier. The only negative was that waiters were a bit of moody. I also saw a small mouse under a sofa but that doesnt matter so much as long as the food was excellent and very clean.

    Excellent Grill House

    hishamam recommends this,

One of the most famous grill houses in Cairo. It's decently priced but you cannot call it cheap. It has multiple branches in Cairo. It has a convincing menu with different middle eastern options.
