    Lonely Planet review

This centrally located hotel is a perfect base for a few days sightseeing in Cairo. If you get one of the renovated (‘class A’) rooms, this is a gem with a whiff of yesteryear, with the perk of an excellent rooftop bar. Most of the rooms have now been renovated but check before you book.

Our independent authors have visited Carlton Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Cairo.
