Lonely Planet review
A 10-minute walk from the bus station, Rumi-Wilco and its separate Pole House (doubles/triples $24/30) are within the private Rumi-Wilco Nature Reserve, owned by knowledgeable, local naturalist guides Orlando and Alicia Falco. The adobe houses have attractive rooms with hand-tiled floors, shared bathrooms and communal kitchens (great for small groups). The Pole House, a traveler’s favorite, is a rustic cabin on stilts with a hot shower, and hammocks looking over the river. To enter the reserve only is $2 per person (good for three visits).
Our independent authors have visited Rumi-Wilco Ecolodge and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Vilcabamba.
