Getting there & away
Air
Loja is served by La Toma airport, in Catamayo, some 30km to the west. TAME flies to/from Quito ($49) Monday to Saturday and Guayaquil ($36) Tuesday through Thursday. Tickets can be purchased in Loja at TAME (257 0248; Av Ortega near 24 de Mayo; 8:30am-1pm & 2:30-6pm Mon-Fri, 9am-1pm Sat).
For transport to the airport, call Aerotaxi (257 1327, 258 4423), which charges $4 per person for the 40-minute shuttle service to the airport or catch a bus to Catamayo ($1, 45 minutes) from the bus terminal.
