Amazon Jungle Fever
Blog: Cogs Watch - 10 May 2010
The Amazon jungle is a hot topic on this continent, and understandably so. It covers five and a half million square kilometers, spans over nine countries (one of which is Ecuador) and is home to 25% of the world's animal species. Now that's impressive! We'd been umming and ahhing about whether or not to visit the enticing green mass as we knew it would be a sure cash-drainer. It seemed, however, that curiosity would out do stinginess on this occasion, and we booked a four day, three night tour to see out our last week in Ecuador.

Being George (or Jorge in these parts) of the jungle
Blog: Boodle's Adventure - around the world in 365 days - 7 May 2010
The jungle is always something that I’ve been drawn too. No idea why. Maybe it is because it holds some crazy figure like 1/2 of the worlds flora and fauna. And, I’ve always wanted to see an anaconda in the wild since seeing the movie ‘Anaconda’ when I was little. For some reason it has stuck in my mind. So, for 3 nights and 4 days we lodged and canoed (electric canoe that is) through a slice the Ecuadorian part of the Amazon Jungle, piranha fishing, monkey spotting, dolphin watching and swimming in the river to our hearts content.
