For the benefit of everyone dropping by the Brazil branch for the first time, please read this FAQ first. And I hope there can be some sort of way to moderate the thread to keep it updated and clean. I know there are some AWESOME regular contributors here who enjoy giving advice; I feel this thread can really help to condense the information available.

I'll go first, with some general thoughts from the South America FAQ. Many thank to Apollo for starting that thread and for a great idea…

(Peru rail on the other hand doesn't say anything about possesion of CC)

I personally find this ridiculous, because, just a simple…

Hola a todos,

I would like to go from Bogota to Panama City.
What's the cheapest option for this?

Can you recommend any other Places in Columbien?

I planned to fly from Mexico to Columbia, where I would have about 10 days only, and then go up to Panama City.
In Panama I would like to stay almost 20 days. Any recommendations therefor, as well? :-)

After Panama, I have another 1,5 months to go up again to Mexico.
I thought of staying in Costa Rica and Guatemala for a while.
What do you guys think…

I am travelling to Chile in a few weeks.

I am trying to learn a few Chilean phrases before I go. I've got myself a Latin American phrasebook and a Chilean phrasebook.

Apart from a few phrases, most of the…
