My girlfriend and I (male) are travelling Central and South America from November this year, starting in Honduras, travelling down to Panama and then flying to Rio. We will then be making our way south-west towards Argentina and Chile. Our family of four are heading to Ecuador in July. The Lonely Planet guide suggests booking flights once in the country. This makes it difficult to plan our trip.

I can't find anything on the actual difference. Expedia shows prices starting at $560 CDN (about 500 USD) return. Also, I have seen reports that it is much cheaper to book from Guayaquil. We will be going that way anyway, so maybe we should book from there?

Lastly, we don't plan to do any cruises but thought that we could book some…

In an attempt to find a fun way for my kids (ages 5 and 8) to be immersed in Spanish, we're thinking of spending 2 months (July-August) in Chile, if we can find a camp-like experience for the kids. By that I mean the kids do fun activities (sports, art, games, etc.) for part of the day (9-3 or whatever), ideally mainly with local kids since I want our kids speaking Spanish.

I realize that July-August is winter, and that it is not a big school break, though I'm assuming that there is a school…

Hi, this is my first topic. I'll like to have your opinion the ones that alredy travel to Arequipa, or the ones are planing to, Im looking for a hostel but i dont know whats better: NEAR THE PLAZA DE ARMAS or A GOOD VIEW and QUIET PLACE, there are some places like yanahuara watch point not so close to the plaza that looks amazing. =)
