Lonely Planet review for La Briciola

This longtime favorite has an outstanding and varied menu. The portions are large and the wine is fairly priced. Make a reservation if you hope to eat before 9:30pm.

    Wonderful food and wine

    holaquito recommends this,

This restaurant is a favorite among expats in the Quito community (at least the International School community). The restaurant is on a quiet, dark street so make sure it's open before you go. It is super cozy with a fireplace and a few separated rooms which helps with the atmosphere. The food is wonderful! They start you out with this delicious bread (served hot) with olive oil dip ~ you could fill up on just the bread. The wine is great ~ they have a delicious Malbec that I haven't seen anywhere else in Quito and it's reasonably priced. I am a vegetarian and they have excellent risotto, ravioli and other pastas. All my meat eating friends rave about it as well. We often go for group birthdays and events and the service is wonderful ~ really friendly and attentive but not overly attentive if you know what I mean. It's a little different than your typical Quito restaurant and I highly recommend it!
