Lonely Planet review
No exaggerating, stepping through the medieval-looking doorway into the bright, plant-filled inner courtyard of this historic hotel is like being transported to another century. Specifically, to 1698 when the bones of this house were originally built. There's a variety of differently configured and sized rooms, though all are wood floored and have cozy furnishings.
Because it’s a colonial building, most rooms lack windows, but doors open onto a balcony ringing the enchanting interior patio with a stone fountain as its centerpiece. Several others, part of a small annex, adjoin a charming little outdoor sitting area. A basic breakfast is served in a vaulted, brick-walled dining area on the ground floor.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel San Francisco De Quito and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Quito.
