Today's newspaper carries a report that YF vaccination certificates will be checked for foreign travellers at border crossings
This follows a case in the lowland area of northern La Paz. Spanish speakers may be struck, as I was, by the emphasis on a foreign traveller being affected and there being no local cases.
It might be prudent to assume that Bolivian border officials will be more…

Day 7 Inca Trail
Day 8 Inca Trail
Day 9 Machu Picchu

So I've been planning a backpacking trip through Latin america but I'm having some trouble deciding which countries to go to. This seems like a common route but which way is the best if I want to go to Salento and Medellin from Bogota. Either bus from Bogota (or fly) to Salento then bus to Medellin and fly to Cartagena OR bus from Bogota to Medellin, then bus to Salento and fly (from Pereira) to Cartagena?
Hi everyone, inexperienced traveler here! I am renting a car at the airport as I have a stopover at Lima for 17 hours. Arrive there at 10 am and leaving at 3 am the next day. What are some nice areas to stop by? Looking for anything really. High emphasis on local food. Note that I have no GPS and will be relying on maps. I could use GPS on my phone but that is if I find wifi somewhere.
