The Regal is the classiest hotel in downtown Machala. There are hints of Spanish villa in the floor tiles and the wall murals. Look for the tall glass-fronted building only a block from the main plaza.
The best choice in terms of overall value, the Grand Hotel Americano has clean, modern rooms, professional staff and a central location. The one downside here is the potentially annoying street noise.
The architecture of the Rizzo screams ’70s and the furniture probably hasn’t been replaced since then, but there is a pool and a patio area. Rooms at the Rizzo are clean and have cable TV, though they are a little dark.
This squeaky clean and friendly hotel is only a short walk from the busy center. Some of the tiled rooms are actually too large with too many beds, better for slumber parties.
