For the benefit of everyone dropping by the Brazil branch for the first time, please read this FAQ first. And I hope there can be some sort of way to moderate the thread to keep it updated and clean. I know there are some AWESOME regular contributors here who enjoy giving advice; I feel this thread can really help to condense the information available.

I'll go first, with some general thoughts from the South America FAQ. Many thank to Apollo for starting that thread and for a great idea…

Hi. Travelling on a motorbike and need to slowly go up in elevation after Arequipa. My partner was already sick from elevation sickness so we need to be careful.

Is there places to stay between Arequipa and Chivay? It's hard to tell on Google as most accommodation are not online.

Airlines cancel without notice, I have heard. Any positive comments on an airline in Peru, especially Arequipa to Lima?

Hi all! So I have just decided to take my partner to Colombia for his birthday in October, flying into and spending most of our time in Bogota. This is going to be his first time out of the country, and I want to show him a variety of things in our short time there. To this end, I was hoping someone might be able to give me recommendations on getting out of the city and experiencing small-town Colombian life for a day or two. Whenever I travel I love to see how the people live in small…

Hi,
We're planning to go from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado in mid-November and like to go there by daytime bus, becouse reading this forum we've found that this route is wonderful. But I could have found only overnight buses searching online.
So, does anyone could give me a piece of information how to get from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado by daytime bus?
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!

Wanted to tour into Noel Kempff Park out of Santa Cruz in mid-October for four or five days, but the only guide company I could find said they don't do Noel Kempff anymore due to lack of maintenance on cabins in Flor de Oro (Ruta Verde Bolivia). Haven't seen another trekking company doing Noel Kempff on the web. We're a couple (2 people).

Anyone know of a reliable trekking/guide service for Noel Kempff?

Thanks

Hi,

On entering Bolivia at customs last night my visa/ Cuban tourist card was "lost". I am meant to be flying to Cuban tomorrow morning!!! Will I be able to fly with a photo of the tourist card? Or does anyone know any travel agents at which I can acquire a new one (both Cuban and British embassies are closed today) in La Paz?

Many thanks

B
