The company arranges tours to Río Muchacho Organic Farm and offers fascinating ecocity tours, where travelers can learn about the grassroots community projects (organic shrimp farming, environmental education in schools, mangrove replanting and more) that have made Bahía a model for sustainable development. Bahía Dolphin Tours owns the Chirije archaeological site, and offers day visits or overnight tours to the site. Museo Bahía de Caráquez
A good introduction to the area’s indigenous history is the Museo Bahía de Caráquez. The modern museum, which opened in 2004, has hundreds of pieces of pre-Columbian pottery, as well as local crafts for sale. A guided tour in Spanish is included with admission.
