Getting around

To get to the airport take a shared minibus from the Parque Isidoro Ayora for $1.50, which takes under 10 minutes. A taxi will cost about $3, or it’s a 2km walk from downtown. If flying into Tulcán, you can take a taxi or shared minibus for $1.50.

Shared taxis and minibuses heading to the border leave from the Parque Isidoro Ayora. Either should cost $0.80. The taxis wait until enough passengers cram in to make the trip.

The bus terminal (JR Arellano & Bolívar) is inconveniently located 2.5km southwest of downtown. City buses ($0.10) run southwest from downtown along Bolívar and will deposit you at the terminal. To get downtown from here, take a taxi for $1 or cross the street in front of the terminal and take the bus there.
