For the benefit of everyone dropping by the Brazil branch for the first time, please read this FAQ first. And I hope there can be some sort of way to moderate the thread to keep it updated and clean. I know there are some AWESOME regular contributors here who enjoy giving advice; I feel this thread can really help to condense the information available.

I'll go first, with some general thoughts from the South America FAQ. Many thank to Apollo for starting that thread and for a great idea…

Hi,
My wife and I recently travelled along the coast of Northern South America from French Guiana to Guyana and onto Brazil.
We relied on the Thorn Tree and other websites a lot when planning logistics/travel connections, but we didn’t find a lot of recent information. So here goes based on our experience.
- Our trip was fairly simple. Effectively following the coast.
- We travelled on public transport all the way.
- All prices are per person and current as of August/September 2016. Prices in…

Hi everybody

My girlfriend and I are from Belgium (30y and 27y) and we would like to do a Ausangate 5D/4N trek in the beginning of October. We’ll arrive in Cusco at the 29th of September. We can start the tour a couple of days later. We are looking for more people to join the trek, so we could split the price.

If anyone's interested, please let us know!

Hi,
I would like to see the wildlife in Brazil, especially jaguar. My research suggests Porto Jofre is going to give me a good chance of a sighting of the latter, and Alta floresta has good birdwatching possibilities. Unfortunately, there is no cheap backpacker- style way to do it. The cheapest options for Porto Jofre are with local companies offering packages. The three companies recommended by the Rough Guide are :
Natureco
Ecoverde Tours
Pantanal Nature

Does anyone have recent personal…

There is some discussion wether it is worth or not to go to the sunday market in Tarabuco.
We were there and I think it depends on what you would like to do/see.

If you are in for the tourist stuff: there is a lot, but maybe you can get it in Sucre as well. I don't know because I was not interested in. It seemed to me that all the vendors had the same stuff.

But if you would like to see people in their colourful dresses and with different kind of heats buying things and discussing the colour…

renting a minibus

Hi. I would like to rent a minibus for a small group 8 to 12 people and would appreciate a contact of an agency or a person with whom we could make a deal. We would like to rent it for 10days with or without driver. Thanks. Robin
