Lonely Planet review
The nicest place to stay along Beach Rd by a long shot, the Esplanada also has an excellent bar-restaurant (mains US$6 to US$16) that makes the most of the sea views.
Two-story blocks surround a pleasant, palm-tree-shaded pool at this modern and vaguely stylish compound. Stencils by local artists hang above the comfortable beds, and the in-room filtered water dispensers are a welcome touch. The front desk can organise tours of Dili.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Esplanada and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Dili.
