Lonely Planet review

Running parallel to Strøget to the south is Strædet, perhaps the most beautiful shopping street in the city. It is less grand than Strøget, but Strædet's two streets, Kompagnistræde and Læderstræde, are far more charming and packed with less mainstream shops.

Its strong points are its excellent range of independent jewellers and antique silver shops, but there are several good cafés here too. Though supposedly pedestrian, cars and, more perilously, fast-moving cyclists do still venture this way, so keep your wits about you.
