Friendly, with a family-run feel, this place appears to be aiming at old-world charm. Despite being built in 1790, it doesn't quite pull it off and, while it's very comfortable, there's a vague dusting of ordinariness in the decor.
Dark wood, antique prints and heavy drapes give the lobby some charm. Rooms have unremarkable hotel-style furnishings but are fairly large and well maintained. Black-and-white tiled bathrooms have either a tub or shower. For a drink, head downstairs to the area of the lobby that doubles as a bar or take it out onto the terrace with its yellow walls and comfortable patio furniture. Staff here are extremely helpful and the hotel is very well located for shopping and visits to Tivoli and the city's top museums.
