Malý Buddha

Lonely Planet review for Malý Buddha
Candlelight, incense and a Buddhist shrine characterise this intimate, vaulted restaurant that tries to capture the atmosphere of an oriental tearoom. The menu is a mix of Asian influences, with authentic Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, many of them vegetarian, and a drinks list that includes ginseng wine, Chinese rose liqueur and all kinds of tea. Credit cards are not accepted.

Oriental Mystery
azan does not recommend this,
It is a mystery for me why this restaurant gets so many decent reviews. It is primarily a teahouse and they should stick to teas. The food is substandard. The chef apparently has heard something about Asian cuisine but hasn't learned much about it judging by his or her Pan-Asian menu. I took my sister there in May promising "a taste of Asia." She ordered chicken with black mushroom and I chicken Vietnamese style. Hers was a dish of small pieces of chicken and mostly overcooked veggies floating in soy sauce; in my dish I couldn't find chicken at all and veggies were covered in gooey substance of Indistinguishable taste. In the US I have had occasionally bad meals at Asian restaurants. But never that bad.
