Lonely Planet review

Le Palais is housed in a gorgeous belle-époque building dating from the end of the 19th century that was once home to Czech artist Luděk Marold (1865–98; his former apartment is now rooms 407 to 412). It has been beautifully restored, complete with original floor mosaics, period fireplaces, marble staircases, wrought-iron balustrades, frescoes, painted ceilings and delicate stucco work.

The luxury bedrooms are decorated in warm shades of yellow and pink, while the various suites – some located in the corner tower, some with a south-facing balcony – make the most of the hotel’s superb location, perched on top of a bluff with views of the Vyšehrad fortress. Within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants in Vinohrady and about 15 minutes by foot from the top of Wenceslas Square.

Our independent authors have visited Le Palais Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Vinohrady & Vršovice.
