Lonely Planet review for Hanácacká Hospoda
Just when you're finally getting to grips with a Czech menu, this incredibly popular spot lists everything in the local Haná dialect. It's worth persevering though because the Moravian meals are robust, tasty and supreme value.

Great Food, Unusual Cheese
ddale recommends this,
Tired of the overpriced tourist restaurants in Prague? Journey east, to the university town of Olomouc to enjoy a real Czech dining experience.
Hanácacká Hospoda, a favourite of locals and foreigners alike, offers satisfying, hearty servings of traditional Czech and Moravian dishes at outrageously low prices. You won’t be treated like a tourist in this place, so make your meal decision quickly and if you don’t know what you are ordering, no worries, it’s all delicious. If you are brave enough, try Olomouc’s infamous cheese. Although most outsiders can not understand why anyone would enjoy this regional specialty, the syrečky cheese, which is aged under pieces of meat, is so much a part of Olomouc’s culture, that when the EU tried to ban it the Czech government negotiated for special permission to keep producing this dairy delight. If do you end up ordering this dish make sure everyone around you has a strong stomach because the smell alone can turn you green.
Of course no Czech meal would be complete without one of the legendary Czech beers (Gambrinus is one of my personal favourites), so make sure to wash everything down with a pint or two.
For a place where it is hard to spend more than 250 CZK, Hanácacká Hospoda will be a truly authentic experience that you will never forget!
