Understandably, politics may come up when people talk Cuba. We accept that and believe it's both naive and unhelpful to pretend it's not a part of travel and Cuban experience.
However, if you wish to start topics on Cuban or U.S. politics then you have come to the wrong place, as this is primarily a forum for travellers and locals to exchange advice and connect.

We plan to go to Cuba over the winter break.
I have read that there are two separate holidays, Liberation Day and Armed Forces day on Jan 1 and Jan 2.
Does anyone know what venues are open and what are closed on those days?
Any suggestions as to what to do on those public holidays?
For every recent (and decent) trip I’ve planned, this forum has been my go-to source. I see there are some very dedicated contributors on the Cuba pages – many thanks for all your brilliant suggestions. My queries are probably similar to lots of stuff already on – so apologies for the repetition and feel free to politely ignore. I’ll happily continue to review older posts
However, if anyone wants to comment on my query, thanks in advance!
I’m travelling to Cuba in Sept/Oct for 14 days. NO…
Flew this airline roundtrip Mexico City and was shocked on the Havana side's return to be solicited for a bribe by two female Interjet check-in reps if I wanted to fly out that day. The con is this: They maintain the bag is in excess of the limit and falsely state the limit. When told I was out of currency and presented with an empty wallet -- I had some coins left -- they took all my coins and said that would be sufficient. In fact, while the bag was close to the allowable weight, it was in…
Hello everyone. Myself and a friend will be arriving in Havana on August 27th. We are budget travellers and are looking for an inexpensive place to stay. Dorm rooms would be just fine if available.. Basically just something clean and simple that wont cost too much money. We are both very simple and will not require anything near luxurious. Any tips will be greatly appreciated..Thankss in advance
I am at the very early stages on planning a 14 day trip from the UK to Cuba with my boyfriend. Flying in to Havana on 21/01/2017 and flying out from Havana on 04/02/2017. Looking for some advice on an itinerary. After some basic research, after starting in Havana, I would like to visit Vinales, Trinidad and a beach destination.
Is 4 destinations in 14 days too much? Does anyone have any advice on a beautiful beach to stay at for a couple days? Any advice on a more accurate itinerary? I…
As stated in the subject, I'm an Irish citizen living in the UK. What is the best way to sort a tourist visa for travel to Cuba in Sept?
Sorry if this is repetition - haven't seen it covered in FAQs.
we will arrive in August at VRA airport around 2pm and actually want to drive straight to Havana.
Is it realistic to make it the same day to Havana?
How can we get there?
How much time do we need for immigration and getting CUC?
One other question: What price ranges do CPs have nowadays?
How do other European travellers get money in Cuba?
After talking to my bank my Visa card might work or might not work.. They can't say!
Kind regards in Advance and greetings from Germany!
