Pizza Nova
Best of a scanty choice of restaurants in Marina Hemingway and billing itself as the best pizza joint in Habana, Pizza Nova is a great place to end up after an all-day fishing or diving outing. Otherwise the pepperoni (which is allegedly imported from Canada) isn’t worth the 20km journey to get here

Paladar El Piccolo
This paladar is considered by many Habaneros to be the best pizza restaurant in Cuba, and they’re not far wrong. Out of the way and a little more expensive than Playas del Este’s other numerous pizza joints, it’s well worth the walk.

Castel Nuovo
At the gateway to the peninsula stands one of the town’s best pizza and pasta restaurants, a cheap, no-nonsense place where atmosphere is lively and the food comes fast. Skip the chicken, beef and fish dishes and go with the Italian fare.

Pizzería al Mare
Pizza for CUC$1.50 and up per slice is available at Pizzería al Mare, and there’s the peso stuff served out of a charcoal-stained shack nearby.

Pekín
Chop suey Cuban-style or fried chicken at this state-run joint four long blocks north of the Moncada Barracks. Peso pizza is on the corner; join the line.

Pizzería La Góndola
Offering a break from the pork-chicken- congrí (rice flecked with beans) cycle, the pizza here is on par with other Cuban pizza places.

En Familla
Promising sign, morbid surroundings, scant menu; but if you can rouse the pizza man from his catatonic slumber you might just get lucky.

Casa Coral
Just when you thought you'd had enough pizza, here comes Casa Coral: clean, modern, cheap - and close to the beach!

Pizzería
This fly-blown place sells acceptable three-peso pizza; skip the tocino (bacon) variety.

Peso Pizza
The peso stuff served out of this charcoal-stained shack is as good as any other.

La Concha
The town’s best restaurant is an easy-to-miss place on the outskirts of town that does a good trade in capturing coach parties on their way to and from the Che memorial. There are some classy lunchtime bands here, though the highlight is generally considered to be the cheap but tasty pizza (from CUC$4).
