Lonely Planet review for Al Medina

Tucked into a beautiful patio off Calle Oficios, Al Medina is where you can dine like a Moroccan sheik on lamb couscous (CUC$10), chicken tagine (CUC$5) and Lebanese sumac (CUC$8) with a spicy twist. It’s especially recommended for its voluminous veggie platter that comes with hummus, tabouleh, dolma, pilaf and falafel.

    Medina - a life-saver

    pellecg recommends this,

Their Hummus might not be the best in the world - but considering that you are in Cuba, this place can be a real life-saver. They have fairly descent Middle Eastern cooking combined with a nice atmosphere. Sit in the patio and enjoy some bread, hummus and a falafel - and you will hardly know that you are in Cuba.

If you have trouble deciding what to choose then go for one of their mixed plates - they offer a nice portion of everything. You are guaranteed not to leave the place hungry while having satisfied your desire for something non-Cuban.

    Me gusta al medina

    emshanvan recommends this,

I loved this restaurant. We went there on a whim as we waked down the streets of Old Habana. I found it just lovely . We ordered hummus and tabbouleh. We ordered other appetizers and wine. The prices were reasonable. The wait staff was kind and helpful. They gave us extra pita. They handled our group easily. I will go there again...if I ever get permission to enter Cuba again; silly embargo.
