Budget accommodation includes campgrounds, hostels and some guesthouses, and costs up to 450KN for a double. Midrange accommodation costs 450KN to 800KN a double, while top end starts from 800KN and can go as high as 4000KN per double. For hotels, breakfast is often included. Private accommodation is a lot more affordable in Croatia, and is often great value. If you don’t mind forgoing hotel facilities, it’s a great way to go. Accommodation providers will handle travellers’ registration with the local police, as required by Croatian authorities. To do this, they will need to take your passport away overnight. Along the coast, accommodation is priced according to four seasons, which vary from place to place.
