Lonely Planet review
An iconic design, this modernist tower block might appeal to architecture students, for it was way ahead of its time when it opened in 1939. Offers small, neat and modish rooms, most with balconies and amazing views; only the superior rooms have air-conditioning.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Neboder and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Rijeka.

Description provided by property
Hotel Neboder is located in Rijeka city centre, renovated in 2007 this property has 54 modern decorated rooms, overlooking the town. Views include the eastern part of the Istrian peninsula and Učka, Opatija, Rijeka and then, further afield, the small towns of Kostrena and Kraljevica and the island of Krk . Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
Neboder is part of the complex of the Croatian Cultural Centre ( Hrvatski kulturni dom ) and also its highest segment. The building is 14 floors high and dominates the central part of Rijeka.
The access to the hotel by car may be difficult to a certain extent due to the traffic regulation and, if arriving from the Rijeka centre (i.e. from the west), one needs to drive in the direction of the eastern exit from the city (towards Pećine and Split ). After driving along the left side of this one-way street, you will pass the building of the Hotel Neboder (seen from the left). After three hundred meters, a sharp turn has to be made to the left, which will lead the driver back to the centre through the Strossmayer's Street. The building will be easily visible and this time on the right side of the street.
