I will be solo traveling (woman) and looking for a place to stay for a night before my early airport flight the next day. Looking for recommendations on places to stay and things to do for a day in Dubrovnik. I prefer guest houses where you can get to know the host a bit and areas that area walkable.
I will be on the island of Lupod for a few days and then thinking of going to Mljet to tour the national park for a day. I am not totally sure, but trying to figure out if there are ferries that run between the two islands or if I have to go back to Dubrovnik.
Also curious if anyone has recommendations on if this is worth the trip to the park.
We have spent the last week on the coast of Croatia, and just decided to skip the week we had planned elsewhere for another week here in Croatia. We are looking for an island where:
- it's quiet and peaceful
- we can travel on a budget (about $100US for two people -- food, lodging, etc.)
- we don't need a car
- ideally, there are sandy beaches
We spent 3 nights on Mljet and Hvar (Stari Grad), both of which were great. We will depart the Dubrovnik area in two days (August 25).
I will be in Dubrovnik a few days in mid september
I was thinking of doing a day trip to Bay of Kotor in Montenegro.
I heard there are good tour companies doing these day trips. Should i book it in advance?
Which company is recommended? Do you know how late these return? (dinner reservations arrangements)
I am currently doing my preliminary next travel destination filtering in this October for 3 weeks, of course Croatia is on my list. I have done some search and know some popular destinations in Croatia. But I would like to get some more information:
- According to http://www.lonelyplanet.com/croatia/money-costs is the budget estimation still true? I know the cost to travel might vary in different areas, but at least in most popular tourist areas do I expect more or less the similar number?
I will be traveling with my wife to Croatia next May and need am soliciting feedback from those who have traveled there before. We are probably trying to cover too much ground, but do want to see as much as possible since we only travel internationally once a year, and there's a great big world out there to see.
We're in our early 30s and tend to prefer the path less worn, avoiding the places on the package holiday circuit to the extent possible. Generally when traveling, we care more about…
So, myself and the other half are flying into Pula in 3 weeks (exciting!) and we have a full itinerary but we need to get all the travelling done the cheapest way - can anyone help?
So staying in Pula from 14th - 17th. In this time I would like to go over to Venice on the ferry but i'm struggling to find prices for this.
On the 17th we are intending to go up into Slovenia, staying in Ljubljana. We have looked into a hire car but we are concerned about the cost of paying…
Hi from Cape Town, South Africa. We arrive in Split on 24 Sept and depart 11 Oct. 17 nights total. As a family, we love the adventure of travelling in a foreign country, relaxing on a warm (wind-free) beach, enjoying nature and seeing a bit of history.
Travelling on the ZAR Rand (ugh), we are hoping to use public transport and have a few bases from which to do day-trips....However, early departures/late arrivals and long hours on crowded buses didn't work out too well for us 2 years ago…
Myself and my fiancee are getting married on the 10th August 2017 and are planning to go on our honeymoon for 2 weeks departing between 12-14th August 2017. I have been to Croatia before (Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar and Split)in 2009, however only spent a couple of days in the last three places listed. We have no idea about other areas to stay? We are not looking for an overly active holiday, nice beaches, pool and some good restaurants and bars to visit would be nice? Any help would be…
I was wondering if anyone could suggest anything to our coastal trip in Croatia.
Landing in Zagreb on the 27th at night.
Visit Zagreb in the Morning and catch bus to plitvice lakes for the afternoon of the 28th. Should we stay for the next morning too or not worth it? is it worth the morning in Zagreb or would it be better an early bus to spend the day at the lakes?
Move on to Split and I'm wondering if we should stay the night or continue to the islands. Which are: Hvar,Bol and any…
