Getting there & away
The ferry between Baška and Lopar (34KN) on Rab operates from June to September two to five times daily, but between October and May there is no service.
About 14 buses a day travel between Rijeka and Krk town, stopping at Omišalj, Njivice, Malinska and Punat. Eleven continue on to Baška and two to Vrbnik (15 minutes). There are four daily buses from Zagreb (155KN, four to five hours), which make most of the same stops as the Rijeka bus. To go from Krk to the islands of Cres and Lošinj, change buses at Malinska for the Lošinj-bound bus that comes from Rijeka, but check the times carefully as the connection only works once or twice a day.
The Krk bridge links the northern part of the island with the mainland and a regular car ferry links Valbiska with Merag on Cres (13KN).
