Lonely Planet review for Lokando Peskarija

Located on the Old Harbour right next to the fish market, you'll feast on the freshest catch here. Locals chow down on a hearty plate of fried sardines and finish with a 'Rozata Dubrovnik' for dessert. The interior is atmospheric and from the outside tables you can watch the boats come and go over a glass of good local wine.

    Terrible: bad food indiferently served.

    erichk does not recommend this,

Miniscule, almostunshellable shrimp,, tiny mussels inedible sardines and a single overcooksd scrap of fish. Would recommend strongly against this place and am upset that Lonely Planet would ever recommend such poor restaurant. I am, btw,a chef and a seAfood enthusiast.

    Three Wonders

    bluepadfoot recommends this,

When you arrive at this place three things come to mind: What's that smell? Why do they bother having indoor tables? Where are the waiters/waitresses?

We found out the answers during the course of our fabulous seafood dinner.
    1. Located next to a fresh fish market creates a not entirely unpleasant aroma, more authentic that anything else. If you trust your nostrils, they should be telling you that your fish is gonna be fresh!
    2. Nobody seems to sit indoors and they have a damned good reason not to either, the outdoors are just to exquisite. If its raining, come back another day.
    3. The waiters and waitresses will take any opportunity to plonk themselves next to anyone "interesting", they all look like customers to the untrained eye.

In between one of our sit down chats by our waitress (during one visit I thought she was gonna have a swig of my 'you'll get a good bottle soon, keep trying' house red wines) we got a rich, satisfying seafood risotto and unusual prawn broth/stew type dish. Quite simply the food was a taste bud wonderland. The company of our waitress was a journey: strange, then amusing and finally quite normal as if she were actually dining with us.

You better go and see, smell and taste for yourself!
