Lonely Planet review for Lucín Kantun
A modest-looking place with shabby-chic decor and a few pavement tables, but appearances are deceptive – this restaurant serves some of the most creative food in Dubrovnik. Virtually everything on the short meze-style menu is excellent, including amazing squid (stuffed with smoked ham and served with lemon and butter sauce), a lentil and shrimp creation, cheeses (including paški sir) and Dalmatian hams. Everything is freshly cooked from an open kitchen so you may have to wait a while at busy times.

Amazingly delicious
lacubanita recommends this,
My husband and I started off the dinner in a nice romantic setting with dimmed lighting and casual, simplistic decor on the ''patio outside'', which is located in a very small street, but it was worth all of it.
As a soup, I suggest the Cream of lentil (30Kn), or the Fish soup (30Kn) or if you prefer salads, their Ceasar salad (35Kn).
You can then continue with Cheese & Spinach Rolls (35Kn) or we went for a bold experience, the Lamb Brochette with Honey and Lavender (35Kn).
You also have many more options such as Veal Rumpsteak Sigurata, or Stuffed squid with lemon juice and mushrooms, or Monk Fish wrapped with bacon, or a very nice Lamb Ratatouille for only 35 Kn.I then chose the Duck with apples, walnuts and mashed potatoes (90Kn) and my husband took the Cod Fish with vegetables (90Kn). There was also the option of the White Fish stuffed with peppers (85Kn) recommended by the owner but both of our dishes were succulent.
We had to try one of the local wine name Vrhunsko Vino, Plavac, 2007, from Libertas Putnikovici Peljesac (15,3% of alcohol) that has been produced since 3 years in a row and won awards. The bottle cost 200 Kn and as faithfull red wine drinkers, we did appreciate the aromas and flavours of this local wine.
We decided to be tempted by a Cheesecake (30Kn) and a Crème Caramel (30Kn) for dessert and we did not regret our choices. It was absolutely divine.
We finally topped it off with a glass of cold Sweet White Dessert Wine (1 glass costs 40 Kn) that is not Prosec. Simply amazing.
We enjoyed the excellent service from the owner, the marvellous cuisine from the young chefs in the cuisine and the ambiance was relaxed, we were not rushed into any of the services, the food was amazing, hot, delicious, local and original.
The total bill came up to 585 Kn (€82.39, GBP 70.89 or US $112.52 or CAD $112.19) and it was worth every single penny!BON APPÉTIT!
